Martín Berasategui's new, successful restaurant in the Hotel Condes de Barcelona opened in January 2006, and in its first 10 months has already been awarded its first star in the Michelin Guide.
It seats only 35 diners, an ideal number for presenting Martin's high-voltage gastronomic cuisine that balances products and cooking methods.
Lasarte's menu offers a careful selection of Martin Berasategui's star dishes and a symbiosis of the materials and flavours of his region with those belonging to Catalan cuisine.
The restaurant is also run by the young chef Antonio Sáez heading the kitchen and with Josep Villodre in charge of the dining room, both responsible for everything reaching the table in a simply perfect fashion.
Apart from being a gastronomic referent, the restaurant is also an aesthetic one, presenting a low-key, elegant look inspired by the Modernist style.
